Frequently Asked Questions
Repair costs vary by the specific part that's failed. For a Summit ice maker with this issue, most repairs run $140–$330. We give you a firm written quote before any work starts — so you'll know exactly what you're paying.
Some minor fixes (like clearing a drain or resetting an ice maker) are DIY-friendly. But most root causes — failed motors, control boards, compressors — require specialized tools and technical training. An incorrect repair can void your warranty or damage other parts. We recommend letting a certified tech handle it.
In most service areas we offer same-day appointments. Call us before noon and we'll typically have a technician at your door the same day. We stock parts for most Summit models so repairs are often completed in a single visit.
If the appliance is under 10 years old and the repair cost is less than half the replacement cost, repair almost always makes financial sense. Summit appliances are built to last — a good repair can add years of reliable service.
